MINIRIN (desmopressin) is a peptide-base synthetic analoque of a human antidiuretic hormone, vasopressin. It mimics the action of vasopressin in the kindeys to increase the reabsorption of water thereby reducing the volume of urine produced.
MINIRIN is recommended by experts as the first line medication to treat betwetting or Primary Nocturnal Enuresis (PNE) in children.
It is equally effective in cases of nocturia , the need to urinate at night and the second most common cause of disturbed sleep.
