R&D Centres

As well as having three R&D sites of its own in Copenhagen (Denmark), San Diego (USA) and BTG in Be’er Tuvia, (Israel), Ferring also actively collaborates with various research institutes and other pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across the globe. Ferring’s International PharmaScience Center in Copenhagen is responsible for coordinating all development activities.

1950s

Ferring begins research activities at Ferring AB in Malmo, Sweden when Frederik Paulsen, the founder of Ferring starts conducting peptide research.

1985

Ferring Research Ltd (FRL) is founded in Southampton, UK to specialise on drug discovery focusing on small molecule therapeutics.

1996

The Ferring Research Institute (FRI) is founded in San Diego, USA to undertake drug discovery focusing on peptide therapeutics. Ferring’s peptide research is transferred from Sweden to the USA.

1999

Ferring’s International PharmaScience Centre (IPC) is established in Copenhagen, Denmark to coordinate all stages of product development.

2002

The IPC moves into new state of the art development facilities in Copenhagen.

2005

Ferring buys Bio-Technology General of Israel, which includes recombinant biotech manufacturing facilities in Beer Tuvia, Israel.

2006

Ferring opens brand new purpose built global headquarters in St Prex, Switzerland.
